Hey Donna, Tim, Scott, newbies, tweenies - how ya doing-
Sending out major nosmo zappers and anti-crave kickers in case that demon gets too close or his voice becomes a little loud - ZAP! Keep his ash kicked to the curb where he belongs!!!! You are so worth healthy lungs and breathing clean air and not coughing and chest not aching and the total freedom that comes with staying on this nosmo path! Here are a few tips given to me early in my quit ~Cut down straws and pretend smoke them. You can do it anywhere and at any time. It really helped the hand to mouth thingie, and also made me realize just how deep I was inhaling those nasty sickerettes. I still breathe deeply, just now I've learned to do it without the straws.Drink a full glass of water before and after each meal. The one afterward eventually became my trigger that the meal was over.Get as much rest as you can. I slept whenever I wasn't working or reading an article or posting on the board. This is really hard work you're doing, and your body is going through intense changes and needs to be recharged whenever possible.Take a shower. Can't smoke in the shower.Realize quitting is NOT PUNISHMENT!!!!!! This turnaround in my mindset was HUGE. Every other quit attempt for me was deprivation. This time around when Durak posted that, quit smoking, hey, ya know what? this isn't punishment, it was such a huge moment. I am giving myself a tremendous gift, I am not depriving or punishing myself!Keep reading, sometimes it takes a second or third read of the same article or post to GET IT! (at least I find that to be true! LOL)Keep posting, keep your sense of humor, but most of all keep your quit. Do whatever it takes to stay on this nosmo path, it is not easy, but it is do-able and it is simple. Make NOT ONE PUFF your mantra, and cry, scream, yell, celebrate, we're here to help! There's not one thing you'll post that we haven't read or posted ourselves before. Don't worry about being a downer, we've all had our turns at it! Post before you puff! Wait for three replies, by that time, the crave will be gone and your precious quit will still be intact! Many nosmo blessings to you all! KTQCheers..... and here's to FREEDOM!!!!!!! ;o)FannyOne year, six months, two weeks, four days,Herbal cigarettes, 20 hours, 49 minutes and 15 seconds. 8473 cigarettes not smoked, saving $1,482.67. 4 weeks, 1 day, 10 hours, 5 minutes.
