high cholesterol and fatty liver-oh goodie-Dean Ornish-

I am not aging well. I have been on cholesterol lowering meds since I was 30. I am now 41. My last blood test for liver functions showed something going on with my liver. I was told to stop the meds for a month and re-check. At the re-check 5 weeks later, the liver functions got worse by double. Off I went for a liver ultrasound 2 weeks later (I'm here to tell you that those two weeks were pretty damn scary...of course every google search about liver function abnormalities came back with the best case scenario being fatty liver disease to farking cancer).Well it turns out I have fatty liver disease (non alcoholic...I have had maybe 2 beers in 3 years...not a drinker) and I can no longer be on my cholesterol lowering meds. THAT scares me because every single aunt, quit smoking, uncle, and grandfather that has died on my mothers side of the family has died from a heart attack at young ages (45,smoking cessation,51,64,64,65). So I took the diagnosis as a wake up call and I am really changing my diet as much as I can right now. I am in the process of moving the dog daycare to a new location and my husband and I are doing all the work ourselves (tiling, painting etc) as well as working full time in the current location. I have been working 7 days a week, 12-13 hours a day for a 6 weeks now. Needless to say...I don't get to cook so I have been eating lots of fast food salads and grilled chicken.I've been reading about different diets too. One that interests me is the Dean Ornish diets, especially "Spectrum". Apparently his "diet" is PROVEN to REVERSE heart disease and prostate cancer (maybe even breast cancer). So my question is....any of you guys on this diet?? Know anything about it??
